Authors, Books, and Beyond: A Conversation with Steven Fischer About Creativity, the Role of Teachers in Fostering Creativity, and How Stories Grow from Simple Observations to Complex Ideas
By Amina Chaudhri

Document: Column

Introductory Paragraph:  Steven Fischer wears many hats: film maker, cartoonist, writer. He has lived and worked all over the world, and when I interviewed him, he was in Japan, teaching a cartooning course. Steven shared anecdotes about the teachers who were instrumental in guiding him—nurturing his artistic talent and encouraging unconventional ways of learning. Now, as a teacher himself, he patiently draws out the stories and ideas with his students. You can read more about Steven Fischer and his work on his blog site: https://oldschooldoc.wordpress.com.
