47th Annual Illinois Statewide Young Authors Conference
will be held on Saturday, April 25, 2026
The Illinois Reading Council is excited to share that we will be hosting the 47th Annual Illinois Statewide Young Authors Conference. The Young Authors Conference will be a celebration of the written work of children in kindergarten through twelfth grade. The purpose of the conference is to support classroom teachers in their efforts to encourage and improve students’ abilities in writing, reading, listening, and sharing and to recognize the accomplishments of young authors. All children in kindergarten through twelfth grade, including those in special programs, are encouraged to participate.
The Annual Illinois Young Authors Conference will also be held in conjunction with the Annual Illinois Reads Book Festival. In the spring, schools are encouraged to select their young authors who will attend and be celebrated at the Annual Illinois Statewide Young Authors Conference.
Registration and the guidelines to participate in the Young Authors Conference will be available on January 5, 2026. Please note that space will be limited, so plan to register early!
